Festive Ways to Decorate Your Garage Door for the Holidays

Nothing spreads holiday cheer better than decorating your home’s exterior. Residents are illuminating their homes with brightly lit LEDs, garland, and yard decorations. You can find illuminated neighborhood displays using the Nextdoor Holiday cheer map and, once you have decorated your home and new garage door, you can even add your address.

Holiday Decorating Ideas

Here are some ideas for decorating your garage door for the holidays.

Put a Bow On It

Show off your holiday spirit by placing a red, green, or silver ribbon around the door and tying it into a big bow. To start, measure your door’s width, then cut the ribbon to stretch from one side to the other. Be careful to keep the bow flat against the door so as not to interfere with its operation. Another idea is to wrap it up using gift wrapping paper. These are both excellent for gifting a new garage door.

Put a Projector on It

The door acts as a big, blank canvas, which you can easily project images on this holiday season using a projector. Projectors can be purchased at most any retailer and online, then staked into your lawn, and pointed directly at the door. They can display holiday images, snowflakes, messages, or a cascade of colorful lights. Some can even accommodate several slides and rotate through those while it is on.

Other Places to See Holiday Lights

Arizona Lights in the Night

Mesa

World of Illumination

There are two shows offered: Artic Adventure at Tempe Diablo Stadium in Tempe and Rockin’ Christmas at Westgate Entertainment District in Glendale. The displays feature a mile-long animated drive-thru light display synchronized with holiday music. Both locations are open nightly from 6:00 to 10:00 PM until Sunday, January 3, 2021.

ZooLights
